ABOUT REC PRATAPGARH
In order to expand the reach of quality technical education in the State of Uttar Pradesh, the government has decided to establish the engineering colleges in the districts of Basti, Gonda, Mirzapur, and Pratapgarh. As part of this initiative, Department of Technical Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh, through Office Memorandum No. 2053/16-1-2023-14(54)/2014, Lucknow, dated: August 2, 2023, has granted approval for the commencement of the Rajkiya Engineering College Pratapgarh in the district of Pratapgarh from the academic session 2023–24.
In accordance with this decision, the Rajkiya Engineering College Pratapgarh is a state-funded government engineering college and presently associated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. The construction of the college is underway, therefore administrative and academic activities are presently conducted at Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology, Sultanpur.
As per the decision of the state government, Rajkiya Engineering College Pratapgarh will be operated from its own campus from the academic session 2025-26. The construction work of the college along with the other infrastructural development are on full swing and to be completed very soon. Following the completion of construction and the development of necessary infrastructure, the college will be operated as a fully functional government engineering college, in line with other state-run technical institutions in Uttar Pradesh. Director's Message
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Rajkiya Engineering College Pratapgarh, a state funded government engineering college, started in the academic session 2023-24 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The college presently offers four undergraduate programs in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Civil Engineering (CE), and Mechanical Engineering (ME) each with an intake of 60 whereas their curriculums are carefully designed to meet current academic and industry standards.
During its formative phase, the college is temporarily operating from the campus of Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology (KNIT), Sultanpur and an associated college of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. This collaboration ensures that our academic practices align with established quality benchmarks while the permanent campus at Pratapgarh is being developed.
With extensive experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Vision and Data Science, I firmly believe that the future of engineering education must be interdisciplinary, research-oriented, and closely integrated with real-world applications. At REC Pratapgarh, our academic vision is rooted in this belief - combining strong theoretical foundations with hands-on learning, collaborative research, and meaningful industry engagement.
