The Quantity Estimation and Management Lab focuses on teaching students how to calculate material quantities required for construction projects and estimate their overall cost. Students learn to interpret building drawings, prepare detailed estimates, and develop cost schedules while becoming familiar with standard measurement practices, rates, and budgeting techniques. The lab helps students understand the financial aspect of construction work and prepares them for practical tasks in project planning and management.
List of Experiments
- Interpret and analyze DSR (Delhi Schedule of Rates), CPWD (Central Public Works Department) specifications.
- Estimate and analyze quantities of various items of work of a building.
- Develop and prepare a Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for a project.
- Utilize and apply MS Project to manage a project.
- Evaluate a complete set of tender documents of a building.
